Family Fun: The Best Escape Room for Kids in Atlanta

a family of four is playing in an escape room while having fun

The long summer break has arrived, and it’s time to figure out what you’re going to do with the kids this year. Escape room for kids is one of the best ways to spend time in Atlanta on rainy days or during blazing heat. Learn more about why escape rooms are such a fun things to do with your kids in 2025.

To make sure that the escape room experience is the right fit for your family, there are just a few basic things you need to check:

1. Are the kids at least 7 years old?

Escape rooms aren’t really recommended for children under the age of 7. Of course, that doesn’t mean younger kids can’t come into the rooms—but for them, the experience might not be the same as it is for older children. This is because the rooms often involve more complex tasks or require finding clues, which demands a certain level of maturity.

Here at PanIQ Escape Room Atlanta, we welcome children of all ages, and in fact, kids under 7 don’t even have to pay an entry fee. We understand what it’s like to have a little one at home. The family wants to have some fun—but there’s no one to look after the youngest. At PanIQ, you can enjoy a fun experience while keeping an eye on your child. That’s who we are—a family-friendly escape room center in West Midtown Atlanta.

2. Learn about the rooms at the escape room center

Find out which escape rooms are available, their themes, and the stories behind them. Most escape room centers include a difficulty rating and indicate whether the room is recommended for children.

At our location, we have two rooms that are especially suitable for kids: The Red Wire and Wizard Trials. Among them, The Red Wire is an easy-level room where you become secret agents working to save the city of London. Meanwhile, in the Wizard Trials room, you can step into the shoes of wizards and use magic to defeat the evil wizard.

Don’t forget to read the FAQ before booking, as it provides additional useful information about the escape room experience.

3. Book in advance!

If you’re planning to play with your family or have a birthday in an escape room, it’s recommended to book a room in advance. There’s nothing worse than showing up at an escape room center only to be told that the next available room isn’t for another three hours.

Most escape rooms—including ours—do accept walk-ins. But it’s really not worth the risk.

It’s also highly recommended to book a private escape room. Here at PanIQ Escape Room Atlanta, it’s just $4 more per person than the public room price. For a little extra, you’re guaranteed to have the room all to yourselves.

4. Preparing for the game

Generally, an escape room experience doesn’t require much preparation. It’s not like going on a hike with the whole family. However, it is recommended to follow these rules:

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before the game starts.
  • Everyone should use the restroom before the game.
  • Dress casually and comfortably.
  • If possible, come before eating… your brain works slower right after a meal.
  • For an even greater experience, you can combine your day with a movie that matches the theme of your chosen escape room.

Extra tip: Get ready to have an amazing time and be prepared to book your next game right after the first one. We also offer special discounts for rebooking!
